Veterans Master List

ECHO has a $3 million, 3-year Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) grant.  Although the VA started a program in 2010 to end veteran homelessness in five years, there are still homeless veterans in most parts of the country in 2016.  ECHO has joined the challenge to end Veteran’s homelessness within our geography of 12 counties.  This grant will greatly assist in that endeavor.  As part of this effort, we are piloting a concept called a Master List or By-Name List” that has helped other communities to identify and quickly serve Veteran’s experiencing homelessness.

The plan is to have monthly team meetings with community agencies to identify Veterans experiencing homelessness, and link Veterans with housing, and services. These meetings will include creating and updating the Master List, and identifying resources to assist the Veterans to reach housing.  We are piloting this concept in Horry County, and we will quickly add other communities in 2016. Any providers including non-Horry county agencies are welcome to attend!
